Dino is a polished desktop client for Jabber/XMPP instant messaging. It aims at a clean, reliable chat experience with end-to-end encryption options, so people can use a federated address on a laptop without a vendor desktop app.
Federation lets communities choose their own server or run one locally rather than routing every contact through one company's identity graph — though trust and metadata still depend on the homeserver operator you pick.
